Improveverywhere.com 2008 food court musical
This is one of over 70 different missions Improv Everywhere has executed over the past six years in New York City. Others include the No Pants Subway Ride, the Best Buy uniform prank, and the famous U2 Rooftop Hoax, to name a few. Visit the website to see tons of photos and video of all of our work, including behind the scenes information on how this video was made.
My favorite is this one:

AIbert Einstein, is a physicist
.
With all of our recent technological advancements, we’ve collected our greatest minds for the ultimate goal, allowing our god complex to dictate over our honed morality twisting it into ungodly reason. Without government restrictions, a scientific task force in a South Korean lab has executed their reprehensible agenda, and spawned the abominable cybernetic organism that is…
Humanoid Robot, Albert Hubo v1.0.
Abilities:
1.) Live Speech Recognition and excellent pronunciation.
2.) Can wiggles his ears (just like Albert Einstein would if he were here today).
3.) First jewish robot (unless i missed something from spaceballs).
4.) It’s a god damned android with Albert Einstein’s head.
5.) Is a physicist.
At the beginning of the video it looks like it’s suffering, so lifelike i actually feel a bit bad. If you’d like to see more of Albert Hubo’s impressive expressions [click here]
Arnold will be president, and these bad boys are going to be at your door collecting the census and gunning down your children.

No commentsIt’s official: Microsoft’s concerned about GNU/Linux
Without fanfare (as expected), Microsoft filed its 10-K form to the Security and Exchange Commission.
In it, however, we find that Microsoft bemoans the fact that their “business model,” well, might tend to suck in comparison to the open source business model. Not only that — and maybe you should sit down for this — all that, ahem, innovation stemming from Redmond might suffer because they would have to lower their prices to keep competitive.
Let’s take a look, shall we? Some of the more tasty, entertaining morsels are:
“Our business model has been based upon customers paying a fee to license software that we developed and distributed . . . . In recent years, certain “open source” software business models have evolved into a growing challenge to our license-based software model.
[And for this we are truly thankful.]
“Open source commonly refers to software whose source code is subject to a license allowing it to be modified, combined with other software and redistributed, subject to restrictions set forth in the license . . . . A prominent example of open source software is the Linux operating system.”
[Wait for it . . ]
“Although we believe our products provide customers with significant advantages in security, productivity and total cost of ownership (emphasis added to highlight both the audacity and humor of this clause), the popularization of the open source software model continues to pose a significant challenge to our business model . . .
[When you stop laughing, I’ll continue.]
” . . .including continuing efforts by proponents of open source software to convince governments worldwide to mandate the use of open source software in their purchase and deployment of software products.
[For this we are truly thankful.]
“To the extent open source software gains increasing market acceptance, sales of our products may decline, we may have to reduce the prices we charge for our products, and revenue and operating margins may consequently decline.”
[One can only hope.]

From an accessories-laden fairground carousel at Chanel to an extraordinary stark-white tented environment at YSL, this season’s catwalks or fashion show venues, if you prefer, were as impressive as the collections they housed. Above: Alexander McQueen called his show ‘The girl who lived in a tree’. The set was inspired by environmental artist Christo.

Chanel Karl Lagerfeld’s merry-go-round for Chanel under the domes of the Grand Palais, swapped the horses for handbags, camellias, tweed jackets and other Chanel icons.

YSL White fabric was stretched taut between the floor and the domed ceiling of the Grand Palais, creating an intimate tented environment within the cavernous space.

Vivienne Westwood chose the Salon Impérial within the Westin Hotel (previously the Intercontinental) a favourite of old-school couturiers.

Hermès A 70-metre-long custom-made Persian carpet that ran the entire length of the runway and up the end wall was particularly notable.

The Muldoons
48, 10, and 13…14? They tour all over, and they sound really good, and at one point or another i think they opened for the white stripes. I don’t know if that’s what you call good parenting, regardless it’s a beautiful thing.

1 commentIt’s a small world after all

Imagine a machine so small that it is imperceptible to the human eye. Imagine working machines no bigger than a grain of pollen. Imagine thousands of these machines batch fabricated on a single piece of silicon, for just a few pennies each. Imagine a world where gravity and inertia are no longer important, but atomic forces and surface science dominate. Imagine a silicon chip with thousands of microscopic mirrors working in unison, enabling the all optical network and removing the bottlenecks from the global telecommunications infrastructure. Image buying a three centimeter plasma tv for your ant farm. You are now entering the microdomain, a world occupied by an explosive technology known as MEMS. A world of challenge and opportunity, where traditional engineering concepts are turned upside down, and the realm of the “possible” is totally redefined.
MEMS are quietly changing the way you live, in ways that you might never imagine. The device that senses your car has been in an accident, and fires the airbag is a MEMS device. Most new cars have over a dozen MEMS devices, making your car safer, more energy efficient, and more environmentally friendly. MEMS are finding their way into a variety of medical devices, and everyday consumer products. What’s interesting is that the micro machines etched from silicon wafers you see above can go no further and nanotechnology’s focus now is on manipulating matter on an atomic or molecular scale.
Design, Nienke Sybrandy, Wouter Nieuwendijk and Suzanne Vanoirschot
Nienke Sybrandy

I have to commend Dutch designer, Nienke Sybrandy, who created the original model of ASCII sun curtains. From a distance, the macro takes the shape of a tree. However, upon closer inspection, you can clearly see all the design is composed of hundreds of thousands of ASCII characters. Very dope, would eventually like to see her designs in color, perhaps on black. She also makes tea towels and handkerchiefs. She studied textile design at Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Her designs are inspired by those basic items that are often taken for granted. Call it geek sheik, whatever… just don’t get to excited, I ordered them before you had a chance to.

Wouter Nieuwendijk and Suzanne Vanoirschot
Wouter and Suzanne van Oirschot collaborated to create these very special ‘2D-furniture’ collection, all amazing pieces! I am showing you the complete series. The 2D-Furniture pieces are made out of black MDF and are printed with a Formica Photo.

You can buy the 2D-Furniture collection in Amsterdam at Das Wella Warenahaus, but you can also contact them directly should you be interested, also check out Wouter’s and Suzanne’s websites to see more of their work… looking at their bios I noticed that both Suzanne and Wouter were interns at Piet Hein Eek’s studio during their student years… no doubt he has a great eye for talent… anyway, thought you wanted to see these before the weekend starts

Unedited Interview with legendary Dr. Revolt By RPH
Dr. Revolt has been decorating the streets of New York City with his ‘psychedelic’ spray paint stylings since the mid-seventies. Here, in this completely unedited interview, Dr. Revolt discusses his upcoming live art installation at the upcoming Sneaker Project (March 29 & 30) being held at the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit. (Interview conducted by Ryan Patrick Hooper)
Where am I speaking to you from?
I’m in my laboratory lair type of space. I’m reviewing an episode of the Simpsons and I’m eating lunch. I’m having rice and beans.
The strangest thing about sneaker culture is that everyone appreciates it – from the mainstream to the hipsters to the young kids and everyone in between, everyone adores a well designed, different looking pair of sneakers. What do you think the mutual attraction is?
I think it’s a utilitarian thing straight up. Lifestyle – people got tired of wearing these bad shoes that do nothing but cause pain. The technology – we have much better technology available. Also you have the whole styling thing. Everyone wants to be fly and super fresh and looking good. With all the many shoes and many different styles, many different styles of sneakers…natural progression there. 50 years ago, you weren’t wearing the right shoes…if you came out with Chuck Taylors, people would say, “You can’t come in here for dinner with those shoes.”
Have you ever worked with sneakers before?
I actually have work in the Puma Clyde book and I’ve worked on a couple of Puma campaigns for the Yo! MTV Rap cross over sneaker. I’ve done some advertising for that. Upper Playground put out a limited pair of hi-tops and oxford cut with my work on it about two years ago.
Was the experience enjoyable?
Yeah, I would like to do it again. I would like to have a little bit more control over the design and how it’s actually done up. But yeah, I’m totally game to do another one.
You’ve worked with a lot of different mediums, but what is your particular favorite?
Favorite medium to work with…well, it’s a toss up between the traditional tools of cartooning and illustration – the pen, the brush, the pencil, the marker and the spray can.
I mean, that’s where it happens. Concept, pencil, marker and then spray paint.
What’s the big difference between being a pirate graffiti artist and being a refined designer? What changes do you find yourself making to fit the mold of designers instead of being out in the streets and tossing something up on the subway train?
No commentsRyan Hooper Harper Dream Teen Machine. DO IT NOW!
My friend Ryan Hooper is a fantastic writer, but that isn’t not why im asking you for your assistance this evening. If he wins this contest (which he ought to, if you take less than a minute of your day to help), he’ll win 5000 dollars and spend it on a bomb-ass, lewd, detroit style party, to which you will be invited.
1.) [Go here], add Harper Teen as a friend (the add will be instant).
2.) Scroll down to where it says Harper Teen Writing Challenge
3.) Select “Ryan Hooper”, click submit, and thats it. Do it everyday for as long as you can, (the contest ends soon).
You don’t have to prove to me that you’re not lazy, i’m just saying, let me convince you with reverse psychology.

on another note:
RFID technology was introduced to the public initially by the Rockafeller, at the Rockafeller Library by means of a book cataloging system. To this day it is used everywhere, from access cards, to anti-theft devices etc.. Only now the man wants to put them under ur skin. dont do it. unless you want this to happen to ur bankz acountz
Charlie Brooker – Screenwipe
Charlie Brooker is a British comedy writer, cartoonist, journalist and television presenter. I know him as a columnist for the Guardian. His shows are 100 times greater than his articles, not for the simple fact that motion media is much easier for my sophomoric mind to digest, but that you get to see his wonderfully English expressions as he criticizes UK television (which btw is the dog’s bullocks).

Book predates Christ.
One of my employers has an antique he’s selling to a New York museum. He pulled it out like it was a family photo album and nonchalantly places in on a tv tray. It’s a wooden book that predates Jesus Christ, I’m not sure what language it’s it, but it certainly looks to be a dialect of Aramaic, and I’m guessing it’s a prayer book when you consider the amount of longueur and accuracy applied to each thinly sliced wooden page. Here is a close up. One thing is for certain, it is in fact that old. It was acquired in the 70’s from a man in India by my employer. If you recognize the characters hit me up cause i’m curious.
