Somehow, Jimmy Kimmal ended up on a television in the same room that happen to be in.. what is that.. Jimmy Kimmel Live? Got it. Josh Hartnett was the guest, introducing the film “30 Days of Night”. Hartnett’s a clever actor cat, played a goofy drug dealer in The Faculty (1998), and I’m a sucker for vampire films. The torrent has been made available so i figured i’d share the joy. Video and audio quality from the sample is really good. Quality aside everything else about this release is pretty standard. The film as well is decent, lots of blood and vampires.

The second XanaX LiMiTED DVDSCR release of the day, however unlike the first the tone of this movie is a lot more serious. Its about sex trafficking. It is in English with Hard-coded subs for the non speaking English parts. That’s about all i know. Check this post for more information if needed.

Things i forget to mention… I need to better document my weekends with my girl. Our lives are spinning, weaving, making rounds like a caterpillar turned butterfly. I took her to my favorite exhibits. We got chilly quick, we left before it got too dark and she took me to grab a bite. Nestled on a brick street in the heart of Detroit’s midtown is a place as classic as it is contemporary. The Traffic Jam & Snug has lures us in with it’s warm aromas to experience true dining diversity.
The place has been around since 1965. Where else in metro Detroit can you find a restaurant with an in-house bakery, microbrewery and dairy? Visitors are invited to climb the stairs to a balcony and observe the equipment, which makes both beer and cheese. If you like your greens, i urge you to try the Ms. Natural Crepe; a paper thin crepe filled with spinach, sprouts, sour cream, onion, tomato & three cheeses. After that were rolled out to the spa, got a good work out, hit the hot tub, the pool, sauna, hot tub again, then the showers. Nothing beats sleeping beside you. Thanks for another beautiful weekend babe.

I was reading about bird preservation in a magazine last week, and came across an article on Dr. Lovelock, it was interesting so i figured I’d share.

The Gaia hypothesis is an ecological hypothesis developed by Dr. Jame’s Lovelock that proposes that living and nonliving parts of the earth are viewed as a complex interacting system that can be thought of as a single organism. Named after the Greek earth goddess, this hypothesis postulates that all living things have a regulatory effect on the Earth’s environment that promotes life overall.

In 2005, WXYZ-TV reporter Steve Wilson reported that the city had entered an expensive one year lease for a luxury SUV. It was to be used to chauffeur the mayor’s family. The lease was for $24,995; five dollars under the amount that would have required the approval of city council. Kilpatrick, chief of staff Christine Beatty, police chief Ella Bully-Cummings, and other members of the mayor’s staff all denied that the red Lincoln Navigator was intended to be used by the mayor’s wife and children. Eventually, Kilpatrick admitted the Navigator was for his family, claiming he had told the police chief that it was “too much” and to take it back.^[15] Media coverage of this story was best known for a situation involving the mayor and his security team. Wilson had tracked Kilpatrick down in Washington, DC, where he was attending a mayor’s conference. When Wilson tried to question Kilpatrick about the Navigator lease, a member of the mayor’s security team is seen on camera shoving Wilson against a wall. ^[16]

While in Washington D.C., police there stated that they could not offer Kilpatrick the customary police protection that is provided to out-of-town mayors because of Kilpatrick’s inappropriate partying during past visits to the nation’s capital. The Kilpatrick administration alleged that the release of the D.C. police’s refusal to protect Kilpatrick was politically motivated.^[17]

I love the idea of YouTube. The democratization of content creation, everyone having a shot at their own 15 minutes, the very real and ephemeral feeling that a dynamic community nurtures. What I don’t like are 15 year old kids whining about their lives on webcams or replying to someone else’s creative work with derogatory juvenile comments. Call me a curmudgeon but, my idea of entertainment isn’t colored by an attention span which shares its depth and breadth with that of a teetsy fly. There are some excellent things on YouTube, but they’re buried in a pile of useless drivel.

Dovetail is like rethinking YouTube with an eye on quality of video and of content. There are no webcam replies, no commentary flame wars, just good film produced by independents with an eye for visually aided storytelling. It’s the kind of service that, fed with enough constantly new content, could make you think seriously about giving up your TV. Dovetail does require you to install a simple application that lets you to tag videos to download and watch in full quality after viewing short flash quality webclips. It’s well worth the install, based on the open source Azureus Bittorrent client and is relatively simple to use.

End to end Dovetail works very well, with its only drawback being a limited quantity of content. There are a few hundred short to full length titles in the Dovetail library at current, but with the number of sharp young filmmakers, and a pleathora of comparatively inexpensive equipment available these days I could certainly forsee a time when Dovetail, or a service quite like it, retires the current concept of a TV channel to the dustbin of history.
